What we do

Everything we do is driven by our desire to transform the lives of people we care about.

Children’s Residential Services

Omega Care operates 9 Ofsted registered Children’s homes in England, and 2 CIW registered homes in Wales. All settings offer a recovery-based, solution focussed approach to working with children and young people aged 7-17, with complex EBD care needs. All staff are trained in the Dan Hughes, therapeutic parenting model; PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and Empathy).

Supported accommodation for 16+ within ‘training flats’

This Ofsted-regulated young accommodation offers people aged 16/17, real-world experience within individual, self-contained flats. Accommodation is within settings managed and supported by Omega Care, with staff onsite 24 hours a day, based in team accommodation. All accommodation is to a high standard with the opportunity to individually personalise the living space.

We aim to create a homely environment in which the young person is able to thrive and to develop a positive sense of self-identity. The provision is staffed on a 24 hour a day basis, with sleep in staff covering 24:00-08:00 as the norm.

A creative, consistent staff team working as a coherent whole, will be put in place to enable relationship development, and to ensure the needs and aspirations of the young person are met.

Small Group Semi-Independent Living

Our semi-independent living provision delivers support and accommodation for young people aged 16-17, within a small group setting. All accommodation is to a high standard and with well-equipped individual rooms and shared spaces, there is ample freedom for the young person to personalise their living space.

We aim to create a homely environment in which each young person has the opportunity to thrive and to develop a positive self-identity, and to do so in a person centred, physically and emotionally safe setting.

All our provision is staffed on a 24 hour a day basis, with sleep in staff covering 24:00-08:00 as the norm.

Step Down Provision

Step Down provision is focussed primarily on young people aged 16-18, who may require a higher level of support, and offers a tailored individual support package. Single young person ‘training’ flats offer high quality accommodation within a building supported and managed by Omega Care.

We aim to provide a physically and emotionally safe home environment in which each young person has the opportunity to thrive and to develop a positive self-identity.

Two members of staff are on duty throughout waking hours, with sleep in staff covering 24:00-08:00 as the norm. However this level of staffing may be scaled up or down depending on the number of residents and their level of need. This is negotiable with Commissioning Bodies based on the identified needs of the individual young person.

Floating Support

Our Floating Support service provides planned and responsive support for young people living in their own accommodation or within our own. We work with social care staff to provide individually tailored, person centred support services over a specified number of hours across the week.

We operate a development worker system, ensuring consistency of staff and generating optimal conditions for positive engagement and relationship building. The development worker will address the areas of work necessary to promote the young person’s journey towards autonomy, and utilise the Independent Living Programme to support the acquisition of the skill sets, knowledge base and resilience necessary to equip the young person for independent living.

The development worker will undertake ongoing assessments of the young person’s developing self-care capabilities within their living environment. These will be shared with the social care team, with opportunities to taper the level of support provided, as the placement progresses.

Family support

Our family support provision offers targeted, sessional work with children and young people in their home or off site. Our collective approach is firmly rooted in person centred work, promoting and supporting the development of the individual.

We place an emphasis on co-working with wider family and social networks (where appropriate), and aim to promote and enhance personal and family group resilience, and the positive routines and behaviours that support this.

Anda House

Being a new parent is overwhelming and can be extremely daunting. We understand this and our latest partner, Anda House, based in Widnes, provides young people the opportunity to develop their parenting skills whilst bonding with their babies in a safe, holistic and therapeutic environment.

Each young person is given the opportunity to complete Omegas in house independent programs, supporting young people to develop the skills to enjoy their lives as parents to the fullest, through learning styles that are centred around the individual.
