Qualifications: essential 
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 5; Diploma in Leadership and Management (or equivalent), or willingness to achieve this within 12 months of taking up the post. *qualification bar in place based on achieving NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management*
Knowledge: essential 
  • An understanding of the Ofsted Children’s Homes Regs and Standards.
  • A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and of its protective policies and procedures.
  • An understanding of adverse childhood experiences
  • A clear understanding of health and safety and risk management processes.
  • An understanding of child-centred and young person led working.
  • An understanding of diversity and equalities and of their significance to the post.
  • A thorough understanding of professional boundaries and of their application to safe working practice.
  • An understanding of the Ofsted inspection process.
Experience: essential 
  • Direct experience of 2 years working with young people within a residential setting (within the last 5 years).
  • Direct experience of working with young people with adverse childhood experiences and additional support needs.
  • Experience of embedded risk management processes using the signs of safety model.
  • Minimum of 2 years within a senior or management role (within the last 5 years
  • Experience in positive behaviour management
  • Experience in supporting an environment which reflects diversity and equalities.
  • Experience in collaborative Partnership multi-agency practice.
  • Experience of active participation within a team working environment
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Experience in leading a team in a restorative approach
Competencies
  • Effective communication skills-verbal and written.
  • Effective ICT competencies.
  • Ability to make decisions independently, based on professional values and best working practice.
  • Ability to generate effective, accurate and timely reports and documentation.

General
  • Aged 22 years and over
  • Able to work shifts and sleep-ins (across 365 days per year 24 hours/7 days per week)
  • Willingness to work emergency/last-minute cover across all Omega Care Group Children’s Residential Services
  • Able to participate in Omega Care Group’s emergency shift cover on-call system to support staff and teams where relevant
